The Power of Partnerships for Social Enterprises

Speaker: Sondra Samuels, Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) President & CEO

The key to effectiveness across collaborative social ventures is that we are committed to shared values—and together we live out these values in community and our work together.

Ms. Samuels is leading a collaborative of organizations that are working together to end poverty in North Minneapolis through education. She will discuss:

  • How strong relationships are the basis of transformative change
  • The importance of being driven by data and measuring by outcomes for children and families, not programs and organizations.
  • Fostering accountability through a combination of high expectations and high supports
  • The importance of redefining “partners” to include those we serve

Social enterprises’ unique structure will benefit from a wide variety of traditional and non-traditional partners.  Identifying those partners and developing a strategy for collaborating with them will strengthen individual social enterprise organizations and the social enterprise sector as a whole.
